Aubrey Morgenroth Obituary

Aubrey Cecil
Morgenroth
1948-2016
A special place shall be made in heaven for Aubrey Cecil Morgenroth, who went to fulfill God's promise on January 5th, 2016. Cecil was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Morgenroth, and his mother, Billie Ruth Rickett Morgenroth.
Cecil was a man of numerous talents and gifts, a musician, painter, gardener, cook and world traveler. He owned a small business and worked as a national and regional sales manager in his career. He served as Administrative Board Chairman and Pastor Parish Lead in Magnolia and Sealy United Methodist Churches and was the organist and choir director in these churches as well.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Daniel Morgenroth, three fine sons, Aaron, Cody and Tyler and their wives, two stepchildren, Zach Daniel and Blair Disotell and their spouses and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Marvin Lynn and wife Alice, and Russell and wife Sara.
Cecil had a great capacity for love that went beyond family to the lives of so many people that he met in daily life and in his travels. He maintained his faith and sense of appreciation and gratitude all his life. He was a willing servant of God and man and is singing in heaven for eternity.
In lieu of flowers or a financial remembrance, Cecil asked that each of us seek ways to be of service and care to those in any need in this hurting world. A memorial service celebrating Cecil's life will be held on Saturday, January 9, at Fulshear United Methodist Church, Fulshear, Texas at 10 a.m.

Cecil will always be remember by his many friends from Harlandale and Harlandale High School. Especially the graduating class of 1966. It was fun to get to sing along with Cecil in junior high and later in high school. He was warm, caring and friendly to all though out his life. He will be missed.

Did'nt go through 1st time: repeating...
CECIL was a friend from band & church choir. There was nobody like him. He could lighten a difficult time, could make a joke, always keeping evertbody smiling if not laughing. He was full of light & love for all. A GOOD MAN WE WILL ALL MISS.

Cecil played the organ at Charles and my wedding in1966 and then he drove the "get-away" car. He accidentally went down a dead end street and had to turn around in someone's front yard! He did get us to where our car was hidden. We will have our 50th anniversary next summer. I'm sure he will be missed. God bless his family.

Cecil came into my life when God knew I needed a special kind of angel.I had just started my new job at Slaughter distributing and I was traveling with Cecil to learn the ropes. I was also going through a separation and divorce. He listened and encouraged me. When I told him I could never repay him for his care and advice, he said that I would pay it forward when someone came into my life who needed the same care and advice. He was right. Over the years I have been blessed to be able to pass on Cecil's wisdom to others. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Becky, Aaron, Cody and Tyler. I am so sorry for your loss. Cecil was an amazing caring man and a wonderful friend to me. Shannon, my son, called him Uncle Cecil. We all loved him so much. I am thankful he isn't in pain any longer but singing in the heavenly choir. You all have a guardian angel watching over you.

I'll always remember Cecil as a man who loved all. He never met a stranger. Although I haven't seen him since we graduated from high school, I don't imagine that he could have changed. He was always just so full of love. I will miss him, but never forget him.
Becky, Thank you so much for keeping him in our hearts. My prayers now are for you.

Becky, So sorry for your loss. Cecil and I met at SHSU and became best friends. Unfortunately we have lost touch until I heard this news of his passing. I would like to share some of our fun times and memories I will always have of Cecil.

After a marching band rehearsal out in early August one year, early in our collegiate careers, we volunteered to travel to Houston to pickup ice cold watermelons for a after practice watermelon party sponsored by Phi Mu Alpha. All we had to transport the watermelons was my 1966 VW bug.

So we took out the passenger side seat (to make room for all those watermelons) and headed on our way. The trip down to Houston was uneventful, but the return trip to Huntsville TX was something else.

After loading as many watermelons as my bug would hold, Cecil climbed in and perched himself on top, flat out. The rear tires were extended outward as far as they would go, and we started back up I-45 at 35 mph!

I will remember that trip for as long as I live.

Cecil and I roomed together a couple of semesters in a trailer by the month. This trailer was located in a sandy lot and we were forever sweeping sand out of the trailer. It was a 2 bedroom trailer, but there were 3 of us, so someone ended up sleeping on the couch in the living/dining area of the trailer. That would be Cecil, being so unselfish as he could be.

Cecil told me the story of his experience of being a drum major in high school. The band had designed a show with a patriotic ending, where they released white doves at the climax of the show. They first performed the show at an away game, and it went flawless. There next game was a home game, and he said when they released the doves, the doves flew up to the wires connecting the stadium lights, sat there, and preceded to poop on the audience for the second half of the game. Best laid plans, hey Cecil.

I was fortunate to pledge Phi Mu Alpha with Cecil, and we had a great time.
The members took our pledge class, some 25 pledges as I recall on our walk, starting at 10 pm one Saturday night. This was to instill in us the challenge of working in a group towards a common goal. It ended up being a great time had by all. We ended up on an old road outside of Conroe, TX. The group walked till we came up on a pumping station, rang the bell at the locked gate, and asked the persons on duty, if we could use their phone to call a cab. We all had hidden money on our bodies, can't tell you where, paid for the long distance call to the cab company in Huntsville, and had 6 pledges (who had vehicles) take the cab back to Huntsville. While we waited for them to return, much bonding took place. What great memories...

January 7, 2016

I know people will read this obituary that do not know Cecil and will say "Yeah, they say this about everyone" BUT I am here to tell you that the world lost a very special man this week.

This man made a huge impact on me and my life. His kindness and love is abundant and you just can't help but see God shining through him. I believe that this is what it means to truly love. How do you win people over to Christ? Not by preaching at them or judging them but by LOVE and Cecil was a perfect example of this everyday. He lived life everyday caring and sharing with others and he will be missed by many.

Cecil, I want you to know that I try everyday to be a better man because of you and I try to put my selfishness aside and love unconditionally ... I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I will always ask myself in times of need, "What would Cecil do?
