Christopher Matthews Obituary
Christopher M. Matthews , beloved father, husband and friend was called into God's loving arms on January 30, 2011, in Houston, Texas.
Chris was born on December 2, 1977, raised in Hallsville, and attended college at East Texas Baptist University, graduating in 2002. Chris has been in education for nine years, the last five years at Stratford High School where he taught World History and coached football and women's soccer.
Chris is survived by his wife Buffie; children Blake, Lily and Madi; parents Lisa and Gary Tucker; siblings Danny and Patty Matthews, Terri and Jeremy Wade and Lee Tucker; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service celebrating Chris' life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011, in the Sanctuary at Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston, Texas, 77042.
The family requests with gratitude that memorial remembrances be made to the Chris Matthews

He was an amazing caoch and person. I am grateful to have had the chance to have him as a coach. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so very saddened by Chris's death. He was a former student in advanced 8th grade English and remained a special friend as he continued to grow into a wonderful young man. I will always remember his smile and the long talks we had about his life and future. Blake, you have lost an exceptional father, but I pray that your memories will sustain you throughout the years ahead and you will embrace the legacy that your father left you. I will continue to pray for all of Chris's family and loved ones. We cannot understand why such tragedies occur, but we have to believe that God is in control and that His love is faithful and His grace is sufficient to see us through the dark days of our lives.
