Claire Williams Obituary

Williams
Claire Elise Williams,
April 28, 1962 ~ Jan. 13, 2011
Claire Elise Williams, an angel from New Orleans, passed away peacefully last Thursday after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her four loving children, Gabrielle, Miriam, Jacob, and Christian. Claire was 48 years old.
A true daughter of the Crescent City, Claire Williams came to Houston in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Claire quickly became a loyal and loved employee of the Lanier Law Firm where she worked as a skilled legal assistant. But Claire was, and is, much more to all whose lives she touched.
Claire Williams was a beautiful and loving spirit, full of grace, and always ready with a word of encouragement. Humble and gentle in nature, Claire treated everyone she encountered with respect and dignity. A woman of great dignity herself, Claire was a model of service and patience and a model of Christlikeness to all of her friends and family. Most importantly, Claire loved her family immensely. In addition to being a wonderful mother to her children to whom she was passionately and tirelessly devoted, Claire was also a loving daughter to her mother Valeria Williams, sister to Karen Robinson and Jerome Williams, and Aunt to Alana and Jerry Robinson.
Claire Williams is with her precious Jesus now, but her friends and family are grateful for the time they had with her. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas. A Celebration of Claire's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2011 at The Stone Chapel, 14130 Hargrave Road, Houston, Texas. Memorials may be directed to the Friends of Claire Fund c/o The Lanier Law Firm, 6810 F.M. 1960 West, Houston, Texas 77069.

Claire was a special sister in Christ . . . a godly woman full of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit's fruit. She encouraged me and said I encouraged her. I will miss her,and pray God's blessings and comfort on all her family.

I first met Claire when she was hospitalized at Methodist Willowbrook where I work as a nurse. I knew that Claire was a Christian when I first met her because of her humble, gentle, loving spirit. She was the most appreciative person! She loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart (she told me so)!!! I prayed with her on numerous occasions while she was in the hospital. It was so obvious that she loved her precious children. She also loved the staff at Lanier Law Firm and was most appreciative for all of their support. Most nights that she was hospitalized a member of the Law firm was at her side. I will never forget the precious Claire and her courageous spirit, her humble and appreciative heart and her LOVE FOR JESUS touched me FOREVER! Even in the midst of what Claire was facing she had a deep abiding PEACE.....the PEACE that only God can give!

I will miss her so much, She was the first person who welcomed me in the firm back in 2009, and I have no idea who she was at that time, but she went out her way just to welcome me, and I still remember her words, "I know you, Welcome to the firm!" She was one of my moms in the firm, always there to give me words of encouragement , always there to cheer me up , and she will always make time to visit me every morning or in the afternoon to check up on me. I was and still am very lucky to be part of her wonderful life. I love you miss Claire Bear!

Today is a day I give thanks for the honor of having known my dear friend Claire. Her smile and laughter was the light I needed everyday when I walked into the office for the 3+ years we were together with Lynn Luker in New Orleans. She was the person on the other end of the telephone line after Katrina ... while we both were working hard to readjust to life in a new city. Her Obituary does not come close to telling her true story - her struggles and frailty and her strengths and courage to grow and be still with her soul. She will always be a friend of my heart and close to my thoughts. theresa

Claire was not only my friend, she was also my sister in Christ. She and I spent many hours studying the Bible and praying. She was truly devoted to her friends. Her pride and joy were her children. She never stopped talking about them. She was so proud of them and all of their accomplishments. She was an unselfish woman and could never do enough for everybody. She loved the Lord and was a walking testimony for Him. She has left everlasting foot prints on our hearts. She has gone to be with the Lord, but she will be a part of us forever. I love you, Claire and I will miss your laughter, Than you Lord for allowing Claire to be my friend! To her children, Claire will always be with you in your hearts.
