Aunt Dora made everyone feel special because she cared so much for others. Dora Faye passionately loved her family, family reunions, sisters, cousins and extended family. She was especially fond of her nieces and nephews each of which were special to her in many ways. She never failed to be an encourager and to provide a caring loving touch and words of assurance. She lived her life as an example of Jesus commandment to love your neighbor as yourself. She was never without a joyful expression. Her joy came from within and never subsided despite the circumstances she experienced. Her joy was expressed through her vibrant cheerful uplifting expression of love for others.

Dora was Dora. One of a kind and a lifeforce. She and I joined the Houston Financial Council for Women the same year (1981) and our luncheons were always kicked up to a different level when Dora was in the room. She was the queen of direct mail and taught me much about marketing and about life. She cared for her ill husband for many years with an upbeat attitude to be admired and aspired to. We have lost a special, special woman.
