Gerald Buckles Obituary

GERALD BARBOUR BUCKLES, 83, of Sugar Land, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Washington, passed away, in Missouri City, Texas, on Sunday, February 13th, 2005. He was born on August 12th, 1921 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado to Carl and Gladys Buckles, deceased. He attended U.S.C. for two years and became a product engineer for Dow Chemical. A veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII he served his country in the European Theatre. A devout Methodist, He attended Parkway Methodist Church in Sugar Land. He enjoyed gardening, attracting and feeding wild birds. He loved the outdoors, boating, camping, fishing and skiing. He will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband, of 58 years, a dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather. Married in 1947 in Carbondale, Colorado, He will be sorely missed by his loving wife, Martha Irene Buckles. Sons, Gerald Bruce Buckles and Stephen Gregory Buckles with wife Jill; brother, Dr. Vern C. Buckles with wife Ingeborg; 10 grandchildren, Nathan, Jessica, Katie, Martha, Theresa, Gregory, Barbara, Heather and Coleen Buckles and Lara Hackbarth; 5 great grandchildren, Nadia, Eli and Gage Buckles, Blake Weaver and Fynn Dragon. Memorial services will begin at 7 o'clock in the evening on Thursday, February 17th, 2005 at the Parkway Methodist Church, 5801 New Territory Blvd., Sugar Land, TX 77479. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Sea of Galileo Gardens at Parkway Methodist Church.

Martha,

My heart goes out to you and your family. I have prayed for

you everyday.

I am so sorry that I did not get to really know Gerald. From listening to his family and friends speak, he was a very special person.

Remember, we are here for you if you ever need anything, or someone to talk to.

We love you Martha.

We love you Martha and are so sad for you. We will do anything we can to help you. Our prayers are with you and the entire family that is grieving this terrible loss. Gerald was such a fine man and the great heavenlies are rejoicing over having Gerald with them.
