Jack Roach Obituary

Jack Roach, III
01/23/1948 - 09/21/2022
Jack "Bubba" Roach III, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

The son of Jack Roach Jr. and Elizabeth Potter Roach, Bubba was born on January 23, 1948 in Houston, TX. Bubba was preceded in death by his parents and his three siblings, Dawn Reed, Robyn Roach and Thad Roach Sr.

Bubba was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He attended Robert E. Lee High School in Houston where he met and later married the mother of his children, Judy Wheat Roach. With the name Jack Roach, Bubba had only one destiny and that was to work in the family's car business, Jack Roach Ford, which was started in 1921 by Bubba's grandfather Jack Roach Sr. Following in his father's footsteps Bubba was named President of Jack Roach Ford, at the young age of 27. Working alongside his brother, Thad, Bubba grew the company to become, not only an institution in the Houston community, but one of the leading Ford dealerships in Texas. Under his leadership, the dealership was a place of integrity where customers returned and employees rarely left.

Bubba married the love of his life and best friend, Candace "Candy" Frogue in 1982. The two of them shared a life full of fun and adventure. Hunting, fishing, playing golf and spending time with family and friends were high on their list of priorities. Bubba passed on his passion for these hobbies to his children and later to his grandchildren. There wasn't a project or challenge that Bubba wasn't ready to tackle. He made friends quickly and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Bubba will be remembered for his honesty, generosity, and loyalty to all who were blessed to know him. Bubba is survived by his wife of 40 years, Candy Roach; his son, Jack Roach IV "Quad"; his daughter, Kimberly Roach Overall and her husband Travis Overall; and his four grandchildren, who he loved very much, Emery Roach, Jack Roach V, William Overall and Addison Overall. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and neighbors and of course, his beloved dog "Tella."

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road, Houston, TX 77056, with The Rev. Martin J. Bastian, Vice Rector, officiating. Immediately following the service, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Bagby Parish Hall.

The family requests for those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a memorial donation to the charity of your choice.

It is tough to lose friends you have known the majority of your life! No doubt that a piece of us goes with them. Through the years we may have not seen one another for quite a while, but when we did get together it was like just yesterday again. I will look forward to meeting up again Bubba.
