Jaime Otero-Servet Obituary

JAIME E. OTERO-SERVET, born July 19, 1927 entered into eternal rest to be with our Lord October 27, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Bogota, Colombia but lived most of his life in Houston, TX. He attended the University of Toronto in Canada where he received a degree in Architecture. After graduation he moved to Houston, TX. He obtained a second degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston. Jim, as his friends called him, worked 33 years for Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Corporation. After retirement he did volunteer work for The Catholic Charities Organization. He was a very kind intelligent, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to laugh but was never mean spirited. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Otero-Servet. He leaves behind seven daughters, Connie Hernandez, Carolina Atilio-Hernandez, Judith Brown, Sharon Lundy, Helena Roe, Rebecca Johnston, and Susanna Floyd; two sisters, Leticia Otero and Teresa Otero. He was also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many friends, co-workers, and a large loving family in Colombia and Venezuela, S.A. Anyone wishing to do so may make a donation to The Catholic Charities Organization in his name. Memorial Service is pending.

Our dear friend, Jaime, was a wonderful person and an excellent friend. Our sympathies and condolenses to his family and other friends. We shall always cherish our friendship with our lovely friend, Jaime.

I would like to give my condolence to the family of Mr. Jaime. He was a really sweet man I got to meet him when he was volunteering with us here at catholic charities. he was quite but always had a smile on his face. I know that we will miss him terribly.
