Jerry Geren Obituary

Jerry Geren
09/14/1932 - 03/18/2025
Jerry James Geren, age 92, passed away in New Braunfels, Texas, on March 18, 2025. Jerry was born September 14, 1932, and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, by his mother Louise Geren Carnes and grandparents Addie and Robert Williamson, at a time when Robert was Chief Detective of the Fort Smith Police Department. Jerry graduated from Fort Smith High School and attended Fort Smith Jr. College. His fondest memories of those days were playing for the schools basketball teams coached by Dr. Ted Skokos. After graduation from the University of Arkansas, Jerry took a job in Houston, Texas, where he met his wife Bette. For many years Bette taught art at Bellaire High School in Houston, and Jerry worked in marketing and sales positions for Houston area electrical equipment companies. Jerry and Bette relocated to the New Braunfels area where they enjoyed almost thirty years in retirement.
Jerry and Bette opened their home, a home filled with the artwork of Bette and their daughter Kerri, and shared their lives with their very many friends. Jerry loved to barbecue for their guests. He was an accomplished masters tennis player. He greatly enjoyed getting together with childhood friends from Arkansas for regular fishing trips. Bette and Jerry were avid fans of University of Houston basketball. He took pride in his garden. He loved dogs and actively supported several animal rescue organizations.
The family is deeply grateful to Jonathan Fisher, son of Jerry's close friend Richard Fisher, and Jonathan's wife Lisa for the constant love and support they gave Jerry. The family also wishes to thank the staff and residents of The Blake and Eden Hill retirement communities in New Braunfels for the comfort and care they have given to Jerry in his final years.

I´m so sorry. I´ve been thinking of Kerri and trying to find any info as she was once a big part of our lives (married my bro).
