Leon Seidl Obituary
1925-2016
Leon William Seidl, Sr., 90, passed away, March 20, 2016 due to complications from late stages of Alzheimer's.
Funeral arrangements are: Visitation from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM and Funeral Mass at 12:00PM, Monday, March 28, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1927 Trinity Dr, Kingsland, Texas, 78639, Lunch will be served after the interment in St. Charles Borromeo Church Hall. Interment will be at the Cemetery in Kingsland, Texas located on Hwy 2545 around 2:00 PM.
Leon was born in Houston, Texas. He was one of 6 children of the late Otto Seidl and Freida Menn Seidl. He attended St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas. He was married to Sophenia Loretta Hagerty, June 11, 1947, who preceded him in death, August 15, 2004. He is survived by his loving family: Sherry Seidl Clay, husband: Don, Debbie Seidl Redditt, husband: Stephen who preceded him in death, Diane Seidl Isam, Bill Seidl, wife Jean, and Janet Seidl Carney, husband: Lonnie.
Leon enjoyed a long and fulfilling life. He went to work at the Rein Printing Company in the bindery department, when he was 17 and continued as a bindery man until he retired in 1986 from The Seidl's Bindery, Inc., which he founded in October, 1975. He moved to Kingsland in 1986 with Loretta, his wife. When diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he moved to Round Rock, Texas and lived with Sherry, Don, Jennifer and Jessica Clay, who became his caregivers.
We will always remember his laughter, his songs and his dedication to his family.
Leon was a 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus for 65 years. He was a member of the both the Austin and National Associations of Lithographers and a member of the Binding Industries of America, Printing Industries of America, Printing Industries of the Gulf Coast and The Houston Litho Club. I'am sorry to hear of your loss {Leon} He was my best friend also. We were a group of 4 in the early years before his marriage to Loretta. I was his best man.
Then after that we each went on with are own life. Married a wonderful ladie
