M. Kelley Obituary

M. DANA KELLEY, born September 24, 1939 in Cotton Valley, Louisiana passed away March 10, 2002 in New Caney, Texas at the age of 62. In 1974, Dana and his family settled in Forest Cove on the river. He loved the river, and even when it washed away everything he owned, he refused to leave. Mr. Kelley is preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Slack Kelley and is survived by his father, Joy C. Kelley and his wife, Millie of LA; daughters, Danette Smith and her husband, Randy of OK, and Rahbin Keck and her husband, Joe of AR; grandchildren, CJ & Danika Keck, Sara, Ryan, and Tyler Smith; devoted friend, Karen Kirby, with whom he shared his life for the past 12 years; the entire Kirby family; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The true blessings to the family have been the many loyal friends, Dr. Stephen Grayson and Yvonne and Earl Ward for all their love and care during his illness. Funeral Services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2002 in the Chapel of Kingwood Funeral Home with a visitation and "Celebration of Dana's Life"following the service until 8:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Shongaloo, LA. All are invited to gather at the Shongaloo Civic Center for fellowship.
