Marilyn Neibel Obituary

Neibel
MARILYN NEIBEL, passed away as she lived, surrounded by family and friends, firm in her faith of the Savior Jesus Christ, on February 5, 2011.
She was born in Houston, on September 27, 1953, and grew up in Southside Place and West University.
Marilyn attended the University of Houston, and graduated from the University of Texas Nursing School in Galveston, TX.
She began her nursing career at St. Joseph's Hospital in the neonatal unit. Marilyn loved being surrounded by children, art, gardening, and opportunities of learning. She did not feel anybody was a stranger. Marilyn was well known for her loving and caring heart, and her many friendships. Marilyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many capacities. She loved entertaining the missionary Elders and Sisters on all of the special holidays throughout the year. Marilyn was proud of her family heritage. She is a sixth generation descendant of John Kennedy, an early Irish immigrant to Houston in the 1840's, who opened a bakery and later a trading post.
Marilyn is survived by her mother, Doris Kennedy Neibel; sister, Eve Neibel; brother, Jonathan B. Neibel and his wife Jaqueline, and their two children, Marin and Tess. She was preceded in death by her father, John B. Neibel; her beloved grandmother, Emma P. Kennedy; and her grandfather, Don F. Kennedy. Funeral Services and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at the LDS Church, 14555 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land, TX.

Marilyn worked with me for years as a nurse for our nurse agency. She was a gem and will be missed by many many patients and their families. She was always willing and able to meet the demands of the nursing profession and I want her family and friends to know what a very very good person she was and know that God is watching after in the sure comfort of her Savior Jesus Christ. Blessings to the family, Tony M. Brown

They say that a 'sense of humor is a sign of intelligence'. If that's the case, Marilyn was a genius.

I never personally met Marilyn but, as a Walgreen's pharmacist, I loved our phone chats and conversations. Marilyn usually brightened my day.

Marilyn you're going to be missed. May God's blessing be with the Neibel family. We love you Marilyn.
