Martin Hale Obituary

MARTIN DIES HALE JR., 67 of Katy passed away on July 5, 2006. He was born in Houston, Texas on December 23, 1938 to Martin Dies Hale, Sr. and Lillian Tamborello Hale. His parents and his brother George precede him in death. Martin served in the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, California and continued be a true American patriot forever. He worked for Baker Hughes and ICO Corporation as the operations manager of the internal coating of drill pipe. He enjoyed Cowboy Action Shooting with the Texas Historical Shootist Society for many years as well as duck and goose hunting. He greatly appreciated the camaraderie and friendship of his fellow shooters at Gunsmoke. Martin was a dedicated husband and father. He demonstrated his great sense of integrity and courage throughout each and every endeavor including his last task, keeping the well-being of his loved ones at the forefront. He encouraged and enjoyed many of his daughter's outdoor interests such as fishing, raising pigs and cattle, hunting and shooting. He was always kind to others and a constant inspiration. Martin is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite Hale; his daughter Courtney Hale Greer and son-in-law Collin Greer. Martin is also survived by three daughters from his first marriage, Janet Council, Beverly McDonald and Christy Tottingham. A memorial service held in celebration of his life will be held at Gunsmoke, Texas (near Columbus, TX) on Saturday July 8, 2006 at 1 pm. Directions and a map are posted on the website THSS.org.
