I first met Phil when I was the weather girl at the ABC Station KSEL-TV in Lubbock. He was the camera man. Our conversation was always Texas Tech. He loved the Red Raiders.
After joining KTRK-TV we worked together again.
I don´t remember a time he wasn´t smiling. He was such a joy to know.
Blessings to his family.

Laura and Christin, I am so sorry! Your dad was a truly wonderful person. We had many fun times as the five of us friends (me, Jean, Jackie, Marsha, and Susan) were all young marrieds. Lots of dinners together filled with laughter. I have beautiful memories from those good times. I pray for your peace. Janice Cunningham Hutton

Worked for Phil at KTRK in the News/ENG group from 1988-2000 when I went across the street to work. Phil was the best boss I ever had. Fair always. He ran interference between us and the overly excitable News department managers. We did so many events in that time, 1990 Economic Summit, the 1992 RNC at the Astrodome, Waco, chasing Hurricanes, building satellite trucks and Live vans. Installing Newsroom computing systems. We had a saying that when News breaks, we'd fix it. Phil was there, planning and working to make Live TV happen on a daily basis. I shall miss his spirit and kind nature. My condolences to Lola and his family.
