ROBERT (BOB) W. WEBER, SR, 89, a Native Houstonian, died on September 6, 2021. He was born in Mykawa (now Houston), Texas on January 19, 1932, the last of six children of Joseph Daniel Weber and Bertha Elizabeth Wiener. He attended St. Mary's Elementary School and St. Peter the Apostle Elementary School on O.S.T. Bob graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1950. He entered the seminary after high school, but heard God calling him in a different direction. He returned to Houston and began his long career with Rex Supply Corp. on Harrisburg. He married Mary Edna Madden, his childhood sweetheart and the boss' daughter, on April 18, 1953 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. In December 1953, Bob answered Uncle Sam's call to duty in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana for two years, being honorably discharged in December 1955. He returned to Houston and started working again for his father-in-law, retiring in 1995 after 44 years at Rex Supply, and moving to Wimberley, Texas (affectionately known as Weberville on Flite Acres Rd.) until his wife's death in 2018. Bob and Mary were former parishioners of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wimberley. Bob loved Saturday evening dances, playing dominoes, an evening "toddy" of Jack and Coke, and praying the rosary every night with his wife before bed.
