Still the trailblazer. Renaissance man. Cool uncle. So many unique friends. So many hearts aching. Homemade Italian & red wine in that vintage inner-loop ambiance. So much good music. Now your Heart's of Space. And those Lafollette Christmas Eves! Thank you for enriching my existence. Thanks for the "visit". Shira & I miss you...

Just wanted to update all of Rog's friends and inform you that we recently learned that his official cause of death was a diabetic coma. This came as a huge shock to us, his family, since no one, not even Roger, I am quite confident, knew that he even had diabetes. While there is a family history, he is the first of our generation to have had the disease. So sad...

Roger's wake is now set for June 12th. Let me know if you would like to receive an invitation. Mitakuye Oyasin (we are all related).

Yours in sadness,

I have many memories of Roger in Houston while I was growing up...I remember he always had the coolest music, wonderful art, and he could carve a mean turkey! If Roger was there, it meant we would have a good time. I was lucky enough to have seen Roger, Renee, and Den for dinner on Jan. 3rd, what a birthday gift! Roger was a special spirit and I will miss him very much.

I have many fond memories of Roger having known him practically all of my life. From the early days of growing up in Houston to the Ski trips and rounds of golf in New Mexico when he and his buds came to visit us. The time I was his roommate at the Bomar house and the nights at Ruds playing darts and being turned on to all the great music he played will always be remembered. His move to the great Desert Southwest seemed to have energized him and he made many friends here in New Mexico and Arizona playing golf. Roger had a big ipmact on my life and I will never forget him. See you soon big guy.

My deepest condolences to Roger's family...

The sad news of Roger's passing has cast a shadow far and wide over those who knew and loved him. I will always remember Roger as a dear friend and teacher with whom I shared many meaningful adventures and unforgettable lessons from this journey we call life. Roger was a unique individual who lived life the way he wanted, while having the gift of creating many, many friendships where ever he went.

Well, Roger, I guess you know the answers now. See you later, aight? in the Great Beyond.

Upon hearing of Rodger's passing, I couldn't help feeling that a bright light has left this world, thankfully it shone across my path. Being Rodger's roomate was a great time in my life, and the many great memories that came in that time will never fade; softball (especially beating Emo's), golf at Memorial, that horrible Hawkwind when he was hung over, his smiling dog Luna, sharing great music, and many a late night/early morning at Rudz. Rodger you will be missed, but we are all blessed having had the priviledge of your friendship!

Roger was such a beautiful person. I miss him greatly. As I recall times we shared, I smile at the wonderful memories. Sorry to have missed the celebration of his life at Rudz. On my next visit to Houston

I'll be there, toasting our friend.

We're all shocked and saddened by Roger's sudden death. He was discovered in his front yard, facing the stars, his hands folded over his chest, as if to say, "This is a good day to die."

You will be missed, my brother. We will have a wake in Temeculah, CA in mid-May. Email me or Renee if you think you can make it, and we'll keep you posted.

Roger's earthwalk is over. Now he walks the Spirit Trail. He left us too soon, but his spirit lives on forever.

Man, I was recently in Houston, visiting, asking after Roger, of his cousin Mark. Only two weeks past.

Good to see comments by mutual friends Barb Jones and Toby.. Can honestly say I valued Roger as a friend and more.. Sorry to lose another pal, someone I always felt was on my side, as I was his, always. Loved the guy

Roger was a spiritual teacher among friends and a student of life. Anyone touched by him was enriched. I thank the Great Spirit for allowing us to cross paths on our walk of life. Mitakuye Oyasin. We will meet again-of this I am sure.

Roger was one of my male role models growing up in Houston. I will always be grateful for the way he opened my eyes to new possibilities and ideas. With me he was always warm and encouraging and quick to smile. I will truly miss him.

I liked Roger for many reasons, but most of all because he reminded me of his dad, Uncle George, who was one of my favorite people ever. Like his dad, Roger was relaxing and fun...just plain easy to be around. Now, with Roger gone, it's like I've lost two of my favorite relatives.

Roger was an influence in my life for many reasons. However, I have never heard wierd space music without his smile and voice being superimposed over the intro.

My heart is broken. Somehow I had never entertained the possibility that Roger would leave us. We had been through many ups and downs, shared laughter and tears. The gathering of friends on Sunday March 7th at Rudyards and beyond, celebrated Roger's life and influence and honored his memory with representatives from his life spanning 35 years...I'm missing you already, Coachie.

We have lost a son, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle here in Temecula, CA. Words cannot properly express our shock, sadness and the extent of our loss. Thanks to all who have written and called to share our heartache over the loss of our dear creative friend, Roger Dakotah LaFollette. His bright light will forever burn in our hearts. He was a true original.
