RUTH REINIGER WESTKAEMPER

RUTH REINIGER WESTKAEMPER, 77, widow of Lawrence Edward Westkaemper, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Rolling Green Village. Surviving are two daughters: Ellen Westkaemper of Greenville and Anne Snow of Greer; two sons: Paul Westkaemper of Jenkintown, PA and John Westkaemper of Dallas, TX; four sisters in Texas: Miriam Hanks of Midland, Harriet Clerc of Dickinson, Mary Lupin of Giddings and Judy Uzzell of San Marcos; and eight grandchildren: Ruby, Teddy, Corbin, Mia, Matthew, Kelly, Cady and Mason.Born in Wood River, IL, and raised in Galveston County, TX Ruth was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Harrison Reiniger.Ruth received a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of St. Thomas. She and Larry resided in the Houston area for many years, and then settled down in Meadowbrook, PA, where Ruth was an active participant in church choir and prayer group. She enjoyed summers in the Pocono Mountains, art, music, gardening, poetry, and spending time with family and friends.Ruth was passionate about education, especially for children who could not afford it.
