RUTH, 77, (nee Reiniger) widow of Lawrence Edward Westkaemper, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Rolling Green Village. Surviving are two daughters: Ellen Westkaemper of Greenville and Anne Snow of Greer; two sons: Paul Westkaemper of Jenkintown, PA and John Westkaemper of Dallas, TX; four sisters in Texas: Miriam Hanks of Midland, Harriet Clerc of Dickinson, Mary Lupin of Giddings and Judy Uzzell of San Marcos; and eight grand-children: Ruby, Teddy, Corbin, Mia, Matthew, Kelly, Cady and Mason. Born in Wood River, IL, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Harrison Reiniger. Ruth received a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of St. Thomas. She and Larry lived for 35 years in Meadowbrook, PA, where Ruth was an active participant in church choir and prayer group. She enjoyed summers in the Poconos, art, music, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Ruth was passionate about education, especially for children who could not afford it. Memorials may be made to one school close to her heart, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, 309 Gower St, Greenville, SC, 29611. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.
