I fell in love with Tim's fun loving nature when I was his undergraduate student when he was just 24. He asked me if I would work to support him through graduate school and through his tenure process.......and, I did! It makes me smile to read your comments!
Joe Olivarez......Tim used to make fun of me for my belief in just 'being' Your comment warms my heart!
Dennis Adams......Tim and I used to meet in that same parking lot to hand off parenting duties when he was a young assistant professor. We changed Kelly's diaper under the tree.

An amazing teacher and friend. Tim inspired our MBA class and provided the wisdom to "read the tea leaves" at work. My sympathy to his family.

Tim is my favorite professor of all: undergrdad and grad school. We stayed in touch over the years, well past graduation, and he has been an inspiration to me in life. I will miss him, but he will always be with me and I am grateful for having the opportunity to know him. UH EMBA Class 19

Tim was a great guy. I had the pleasure of working with Tim at Bauer and I had many great conversations with him over the last 5 years. He had a love for life and a philosophy that many of us take for granted. Tim was always checking to see how I was doing he would make a trip to my office just to say hi and make sure things were going ok. Tim offered up some great advice to me during a real rough time a few years ago and I am thankful for what he shared. I will miss my friend!

When I was a young faculty member worried about issues of tenure and publications, Tim caught me in the parking lot one night and asked, "how are you doing?" I began a lament about the trial and tribulations of an assistant prof. He stopped me, put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Dennis, no matter what. No matter what. Be happy. That's all you've really got." Those words meant a lot to me then and still ring true today. Not long before he passed away, I saw him in that same parking lot and reminded him of that conversation. I asked him if he was happy. He said, "Yeah, I am." He'll be missed.

I had the honor to be one of Tim's students about 10 years ago at U of H. He made the Executive MBA program fun and there was never a dull moment in the all day weekend class! He made a huge impact on many students. Deepest condolences to his family.

He was so entertaining and passionate as a lecturer that he kept us awake for 3 hours on a Thursday evening in the EMBA class. It is a loss for future students. He was a brilliant lecturer.

Tim and I have had a continuing friendship since we both taught at Marshall Univ. in the 1960's. His last email came while he had both an eating and breathing tube inserted. He told me how happy he was that I was recovering from lung cancer..always thinking of others first. What a "free spirit"! Ava and I will really miss him!

Sad news... Tim and I developed a deep friendship when we shared two wonderful years in Madrid (along with Susanna, Raquel, and Magdalena). Funny, sometimes wild, always great friend. He is not gone; he will live forever in our memories.

Tim was such a great guy! When he found out my uncle was a jockey at Finger Lakes Race Track in upstate New York, he asked for his name. When I told him my uncle was Rudy Rincon, Tim said: "Rudy!?!? I bet on Rudy many times!" Tim never failed to ask about my uncle after that. Your exuberance and good will towards all will be sorely missed, Tim.
