Walter Kilbourn

Walter "Lynn" Kilbourn, 82, of Pearland, TX passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014. He was born December 17, 1931 to James F. Kilbourn and Dorothy M. Harms Kilbourn in Carrabelle, FL.
He graduated from Bay County High School in 1949. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology and graduated in 1953. Lynn proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955, and is a veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church, belonging to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, in Pearland, TX. He moved to Houston, TX in 1961 and worked with John's Manville Insulation until 1963. He began working with SIP, Inc. in 1964 and after several name changes, he retired from Parsons Corp. in 1996.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Terryss Marie Kilbourn; his first wife Jeanette E. Harris Kilbourn.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Ann Van Sickle Kilborn; his children, Sandra K. Harris Taska and husband Tom of Missouri City, TX and Cynthia L. Kilbourn Brandon and husband Jim of Alvin, TX; grandchildren, Jason P. Castillo and wife Candace and Amanda K. Brandon; great grandchildren, Shane L. Brandon and Anthony; step daughter Valorie L. Sterling and husband Chris Sterling; step grandchildren, Karen R. Spann Rivas; step great grandchildren, Sadie L. Rivas and Brandon W. Rivas; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Parlor, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Joe A. O'Steen officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Houston, TX.
