I wish to express my deepest sympathies to the Hooper family on the loss of Bill. I remember Bill from some 60 years ago when he was an upperclassman at St. Joseph's in Laredo. He was one of my football player heroes. And though I was about 10 years younger, he'd smile and say "Hi" -- which meant a great deal to an 8-year old. In addition to having been in his school, I share Bill's middle name, I am retired from USAF, served in VietNam, and also know the pain of losing a son named Michael. I truly wish I had known Bill better, but wanted the Hooper family know that Bill is remembered with fondness and as a good man by those whose lives he touched. --John Dickinson, Lt. Col., USAF-Retired, Floresville TX
