David L. Hiner
December 11, 1928 - October 6, 2016
David L. Hiner died unexpectedly in Montesano, WA Oct 6th, 2016 at the age of 87. He was born Dec 11, 1928 in Hemingford, NE and moved with his parents to Idaho in the 1930's. He graduated from Nampa High School, as salutatorian in 1946. He later graduated from University of Idaho in 1954 with a degree in Civil Engineering, after serving his Country as an Army Corporal on the front lines of the Korean War.
David married Margery Parker in Seattle in December 1956 and worked as an engineer for the Boeing Airplane Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Boeing Management Assn. The Hiners lived on Vashon Island, WA for 48 years, moving to Montesano, WA in 2015 to be closer to family. In September of this year, he attended his 70th H.S. class reunion in Nampa.
David is survived by Margery, his wife of 59 years, 3 sons and their wives: Martin and Melisse of Weiser, ID, Loren and Dawn of Montesano, WA, Wayne and Juanita of Oak Harbor, Wa, his sister, Marilyn Bays of Vancouver, WA, 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Lorrine and Hazel (Willard) Hiner of Nampa and two infant sisters. Inurnment was in Tahoma National Cemetery, in Kent, WA.
