Dixie Rambo Obituary

Meridian - Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on October 5, 2024 in Meridian Idaho at the age of 96. Dixie was born, with a twin brother, Lonnie, on Sept.2, 1928 in Nashville Missouri, one of seven children. The family moved to Kuna Idaho when Dixie was 14 years old. She loved the stage and never refused the chance to recite poems, sing, or perform in plays at school. She graduated from Kuna High School and went to Boise to work for Western Union. She soon met the love of her life, Morris Rambo, and they were married in October 1949. In addition to raising 3 children, she found time to bowl on leagues and loved playing cards with friends and relatives on the weekends. Her greatest pleasure later in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Craig (Cindy) Rambo of Boise ID, Sandy (Tom) Thomason of Woodinville WA and Diane Rambo of Rochester NY, and her twin brother Lonnie Crouch of Meridian ID.

She was blessed and is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris in 2008, five brothers/sisters and two sister-in-laws.

A special thanks to the staff of The Cottages on Ten Mile and the White Oak Hospice teams for their exemplary care of our loved one.

The family will hold a private memorial service for Dixie.

In remembrance of Dixie, we ask that any charitable donations be made to Dementia Society of America, Alzheimer's Association or any Dementia or Alzheimer's organization of your choice.
