My condolences to Gayle & the rest of the family. I'm sure you know that Ron died last Aug. so I understand losing the person who meant so much to you all. Larry was one of a kind & I have lots of memories of working on your places. God Bless & comfort you.

I am so sorry to hear about Larry. He really has had a great life hasn't he, a great family, he loved his snowmobiles, the Baum Shelter and tons more. He was always funny and loved to tease! Oh yes he did! Treasure the time with your husband, dad, grandpa, etc, memories are forever. Unfortunately, we cannot be there; we have a family member's Mother's funeral, same day, same time!! Go figure. The Hastriter family sends love and prayers to you and your family. God Bless You

My name is Scott Keithley and I have known Larry since the mid 80´s. I got to know him through his snowmobile dealership in Lakefork and I lived just down the road from him. I built one of his shops with my partner at the time Bill Rice. We traded labor for a couple of snowmobiles and our relationship began. Over the years I worked on their shop some more, then 2 of their rental houses in the area, both the home in Lakefork and the one on Lake Cascade, and then the one in Florida and the house and shop in Mampa and finally the cabin and rentals in Warren. Over the years Larry and I became very good friends and he and Gayle always made me feel like I was at home with them and I was family. I don´t think I´ve ever worked for anyone that appreciated great workmanship more as Larry was a perfectionist in every way. All you had to do was look at his work space or any of his classic cars and see that everything was in perfect order. Whenever I finished working for the day Larry would fire up the compressor and blow everything off because the dust would bother him, even though I would be making more the next day. We took a road trip down to the Florida Keys in one of his classic convertible Pontiac´s and had great time. The only thing that happened that alittle sideways was when we spent the night in Miami and what we thought was a good neighborhood turned out to be not so much and him and I took shifts sleeping while the other watched the Pontiac in the parking lot! We spent many a evening after work drinking a beer or two on one of the porches of the many places I worked on and they all were nice and we chatted about all things in life over the years. Larry was always there to help me during the day and even in declining health he would give it his all. I know Larry loved his family and he was loved by those who knew him. He was a fair and honest man and with his passing I lost a great friend. Godspeed Larry, and we all will miss you!

Oh bro I so loved you even if even we didn´t see one another as often as we should. I still remember when I was a kid and you were nine years older than me and you and Frank were always hanging out, and I learned a lot of language from you and I used it one day when I tripped coming out of the house and mom washed my mouth out with soap I have made up for that. I use it quite often now, but no one`s going to do that to me now
I also remembered playing in the culvert with the running water that was by our house and I don´t know what I was doing in the covert 3/4 filled with water, but I got stuck and I remember you looking in the other end at me, and thankfully you went and got mom. she of course, was panicked because she thought I was going to drown But you thought that was pretty funny. I also remember back in the day when you were milking cows that I would stand at the door and you would try to hit my mouth with the milk from the cow and of course it never happened.
Later when I was grown, we had some great times at Warren when we snowmobiled in. I love you bro, but I will miss you so; say hi to dad and mom and squeaky and lots of others that you knew. God bless, your sis
