Mr. Lowry, thank you for your life of giving and caring. I was your 1st chair trumpet from 1973 to 1977 in the Mukilteo School District (Explorer Elementary and Olympic View Middle School). You were a true inspiration and mentor to so many of us, and I will always remember your infinite patience and warm smiles. I think about you every time I hear Dan Fogelberg´s "Leader of the Band". Rest well in Jesus´ arms, Mr. Lowry. You are loved and remembered by many.

Dear Mr. Lowry,
I started band in 1960 in Arlington. I was scared of you as you pushed me on the trumpet to learn music after always music by memory.
In 1964, I taught myself to understand the notes and fingerings, and when I returned to school in the eighth grade, I sat down in the last of the trumpet section as always.everyone played their piece and when it was my turn and was completed, you put a smile on your face and told me to get to the other end of the horns.
I went on to be solo trumpet in Arlington High school band, then Uncle Sam called and I was in the recruit drum & bugle corps U.S. Navy San Diego CA. I now play taps for Veterans memorial services and have told my above story to many. My Dad used to have coffee with you at the Bluebird cafe in Arl9ngton and Dad told me that you said I was one of your best students.
Thank you Mr. Lowery for pushing me and believing in my music God bless you and you don't know what your support and pushing music has meant.
