Bud Bruneel Obituary

Bud Bruneel Bud Bruneel passed away on his mother's birthday, April 23, 2008 at Mercy Hospital following an unexpected illness. Bud was born to Rusty and Billie Bruneel on July 12, 1952 in Boise and was the youngest of four children. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, daughters Jillien Bruneel, Brooklynn Klinchuch (Jay), grandsons Kaden and Tyler Klinchuch, one sister Camilla Wagstaff (Dick), brother Bill Bruneel (Kimberly), sister-in-law, Janis Bruneel, his lifelong best friend Cary Hoshaw and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Richard Bruneel. Bud lived his entire life in the Treasure Valley, a true Idaho native. He graduated from Vallivue High School in 1970 and was so proud of having been a Falcon. He would actually expect us to salute his old school each time we went by. From a young age he was involved in various sports and was an avid Yankee and Raider fan. He played high school baseball, football and basketball as a Vallivue Falcon, American Legion Baseball as a Caldwell Silver Streak and fast pitch softball as a Nampa Clipper. Bud has been a tanker driver most of his adult life. He worked for many years for CB Oil of Nampa and in 1985 he got a job with the then small young company Jackson Oil. He was employed there for 23 years to the day. Bud married Robin Schauls Barnett on Dec. 18, 1982. When he married Robin he was also lucky enough to receive a daughter, Brook too. He loved having his own family so much that it was made more perfect by having our daughter, Jill in November of 1983. He loved Friday-after-work golf at Centennial and going out to Mexican food with Robin and/or either of the kids and their friends who wanted to go. With family and friends, we also spent so many fun weekends camping, fishing, hunting and enjoying the occasional brown bottle beverage. There was no kokanee safe at Deadwood or Anderson Ranch and from September thru January the chukars in two states would seek refuge, knowing that Bert and Ernie (Cary and Bud) were in hot pursuit. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the Nampa Fire Department and Paramedics and also to the ER and ICU team at Mercy for their kindness, compassion and caring through this unexpected and tragic ordeal. They could not have been more respectful and supportive. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Vallivue Education Foundation, 5207 S. Montana, Caldwell, Idaho 83607, specific to the baseball program.

Robin,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I use to play golf with you and Bud when I dated Richard. You two will always remain one of the best and most delightful couples I have ever met. I know we all enjoyed your special "moon moment" after golf one day. You did have the best jokes. I have been praying for extra hugs and strength to be sent your way. I am so sorry for your loss. My heartfelt sympathy to you, Robin at this sad time. I have such fun memories of yelling for the Les Godman Clippers and Bud was a big part of the team. As we get older these memories are all the more dear. My best to you and your family.
