Christina Mourant Obituary

Christina Farnsworth Mourant Christina Farnsworth Mourant, passed away unexpectedly at age 28 on July 8, 2008 at her home in Paris, Idaho. She was born April 6, 1980 in Boise, Idaho to Doyle and Cindy Farnsworth. She was the fourth of seven children. Christina was raised in Boise and attended school there, graduating from Borah High School in 1998. She met Rod Mourant when she was 21, and immediately knew he was "the one". They were married July 20, 2002 in the Boise Idaho Temple. Most of their married life was spent in Boise, but for a nine month period in 2007, they lived in Orlando, Fla., and since then, in Paris, Idaho. Christina is leaving behind for now, the love of her life, and her two sweet children, Maggie and Andrew. Others of her immediate family surviving her are her parents, Doyle and Cindy Farnsworth of Boise, Idaho, and her siblings, Wendy and Barry Bleazard of Meridian, Idaho, Taylor and Jill Farnsworth of Caldwell, Idaho, Julie and Wil Graham of Flagstaff, Arizona, Spencer and Erica Farnsworth of Boise, Idaho and Andrew Farnsworth of Boise, Idaho. Christina was full of life and love and spread sunshine wherever she went. As one recent friend said, "She exuded the light of Christ." Her sense of humor truly captivated every soul she met. She faithfully served as a worthy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in many callings in the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women's organizations. Among her finest accomplishments were those of being an incredible wife and mommy. Her talents are not lost but are blessing the lives of others in yet another sphere as she awaits the reuniting with her family and friends. She is now in the company of loved ones preceding her in death: her grandparents Kent and Mary Farnsworth and Alva and Donna Leithead and a very special sister, Angela Farnsworth. Funeral services in her honor will be held at both the Paris, Idaho LDS chapel on Saturday July 12, 2008 at noon with a viewing beforehand from 10 to 11:45 a.m. and also in Boise, Idaho at the LDS chapel at 2650 S. Five Mile on Tuesday July 15, 2008 at noon with a viewing beforehand from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

We had the privilege of know Christina. Not only Carlos and myself, but also our daughters. We are all so saddened by what has happened, but we all know as well what Christina's beliefs were. She will one day be reunited with Rod, Maggie and Andy. She was such a special and tender person. Always made the effort to take the extra step to get to know you. I was privileged to have spent a 40 minute drive with her to stake conference and have a deep conversation about our beliefs and having faith. She will be missed in body, but in spirit she is always with us.

I also served with Christina in the Minneola Ward Relief Society Presidency and will forever be blessed by knowing such a choice daughter of our Father in Heaven. The Spirit was always so strong during every conversation that I had with Christina. Her knowledge of the Gospel and her unconditional love always impressed me. She will be greatly missed and I pray for her family at this time that they will find peace and comfort.

I served with Christina in the Minneola Ward Relief Society. We had great fun. It seemed we'd known each other a long time. She has such a giving, sweet spirit.
We send our love to her family.

I had the privilege of serving as the Mourants bishop while they lived in Florida. They are one of the most exceptional families I have ever met. In the brief nine months they spent in our ward, they immersed themselves in service and set the standard in our ward. Our hearts break as we consider Rod without his sweetheart, but we know without a doubt there's is a marriage firmly built on covenants made with Heavenly Father. I am so grateful I had the chance to know Christina.

My memories of Christina go back to Maple Grove Elementary school. I recall her mentioning during a class project that an ancestor of hers had invented the television. Of course everyone was impressed by that, but much more incredible was her positive and generous spirit. I spent the night at her house on occasion and remember many goofy times and giggly conversations. Thinking about her makes me smile, and I had been looking forward to seeing her again at our 10 year high school reunion. I am so sorry for all of your loss. Although I haven't seen her in years, and have never met her husband or children, I know what an incredible partner in life and mommy she must have been. Please know that she left behind thousands of these fond memories and anyone who came in contact with her benefitted from it.

I have many fine memories of Christina. We went to high school together, and then we maintained our friendship afterwards. We use to joke about our friendship, how we could not talk to each other for months, and then when we did it was like we hadn't missed a day. I am deeply saddened by her passing, she was so loved by everyone.

Chree, I love you and will miss you very much. We had so much fun together when I was blessed to live with you and your family. You were always happy and full of love and shared your smile with everyone. I know that heaven is a brighter place having you there, though you are missed so greatly here. Your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers while I am here upon this earth and when I leave I hope that I will see your smile again. "Love you miss you" Stephanie

Chree,
Time and distance separated us. Yet my memory quickly returns to fond moments in time. Borah High school was the birthplace of an inseparable group of friends. The nicknames we appointed each other make me laugh still. Chree-roro, Kel-roro, Sa-roro, And-roro. Reading the entry you left in my high school yearbook you wrote: “Hey hon, thanx for being such a great friend to me…Have a super-d-duper summer. Chree-roro.”

As I write in your GuestBook of Life, I will inscribe “Only God knows why a beautiful spirit must go home so soon. Love Always, And-roro.” Chree, the RoRo Group will miss you.

God Bless the Farnsworth and Mourant family. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I have known Christina and her family for several years now, and can honestly say she was one of the best people I have ever met. I consider myself very lucky to know her and her family as well as I do.

She was a good wife, a terrific mommy, and a true friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to Rod, the kids, and the Farnsworth family during this difficult time.

Oh the wonderful memories we make as we share our lives together! The blessing of sharing the good as well as the sad/bad. Our thoughts, feelings and memories are treasures that are ours to keep forever. The smile in our heart(s) can/will endure any brief separation. The wish of my heart today is to help you endure the sadness you may feel from the departure of your special loved one. May God indeed be with you....
