I´ve known David for what seems like forever. He and Theresa were our home teachers for 20 years and I can count on one finger the number of times they missed their visits with us. He was very schooled in the Gospel and you could tell he didn´t just read the scriptures, but he feasted on them. I feel so guilty for feeling sorry for my self that I don´t get to see him anymore in this lifetime. I looked up to David so much. He will always be my Hero. His cape was his service to others. We love you David and Theresa.

I still feel like I need my dad. Anytime I'd call, he'd answer. When I was sick, he was the one to bless me. But he prepared each of his children to be strong, faithful and wise and I feel like he did in fact finish his work here on earth.
I have so many memories, but this was one of my first and it's stuck with me. Just the two of us were driving home in his old red rambler, when he saw a woman with her children on the side of the road. They were barefoot, dirty and she appeared distressed. I was wary when they got in the car, and we drove for what seemed to me like hours with these strangers. As they were leaving, I saw my dad empty his wallet and give all he had to these people. She accepted with tears in her eyes. We never spoke about the incident again. He was a hero to so many, but to me, he was just dad. This is how he lived.
