Ruth Perrin Obituary

Ruth "Becky" Elizabeth Perrin

March 12, 1939 - April 23, 2024

Cambridge, formerly of Boise, Idaho - Ruth Elizabeth Perrin, 85, better known as Becky to her many friends and family, passed away peacefully at Salubria Center Assisted Living, Cambridge, Idaho on April 23, 2024. Becky was born on March 12, 1939 in Anchorage, Alaska to Robert and Violet Green. She grew up in the King Hill and Glenns Ferry area of Idaho, having told many stories of raising melons on the family farm, being active in Job's Daughters and spending time at Hanson's cafe. As Becky was to begin her senior year at Glenns Ferry High School, her parents made the decision to move to La Grande, Oregon. Becky was able to convince her parents to allow her to stay in Glenns Ferry to live with Marvin and Dorothy Wooten's family. On January 22, 1957, Becky went to Boise with Marvin and Dorothy, who had also asked Bob Perrin to come as well. Both being from Glenns Ferry, the two had known of each other for some time, but they were 5 years apart and had never dated. Neither Becky nor Bob knew it was a set up at the time; it was love at first sight and they were married 4 months later, on May 19, 1957. With Bob working for Bestway Building Centers (Boise Cascade), they moved their family numerous times through the years: Cascade, Twin Falls, Gooding, Payette, and finally Boise. In 1974 they bought Capital Lumber Company and Becky along with looking after four children became the accounts payable clerk for the business. Becky was active playing cards and golf at The Plantation Country Club and bowling. Together they traveled the U.S., Europe, and Asia. She was just as avid a Boise State Broncos fan/supporter as Bob was. More than anything Becky enjoyed spending time with family. Whether it was boating on Payette Lake, swimming at the condo pool in McCall, taking the entire family to Kauai, holidays or birthdays, she loved being with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Family get-togethers were always a good excuse for her to make cookies, cakes and homemade peanut clusters, caramel turtles, and peanut brittle to go along with peanut M&Ms that were ever present in the house.

She was preceded in death by her husband James R. (Bob) Perrin, father Robert (Bob) Green, mother Violet (Vi) Green, brother James Green and infant son Jay Perrin. She is survived by her sister Margie Rosenberg, children: Pam Schwenkfelder (Royce), Jeff Perrin (Trish), Randy Perrin (Paul), Chris Perrin; 8 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held on May 6, 2024, at Glenn Rest Cemetery, 2005 Frontage Road, Glenns Ferry, Idaho at 11:00 a.m.
