Michael Andlinger Obituary
Age 55, of North Canton, lost his battle to cancer and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Nov. 13, 2013. Michael was born April 24, 1958 in Wheeling, W.Va. to Alma and Arthur 'Red' Andlinger, Jr. He graduated from GlenOak High School in Canton, Ohio and went on to work at Republic Steel for 37 years where he made lifelong friends. Michael was an artist at heart and created uniquely artistic furniture, jewelry, and award winning photography. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Red and his brother, Arthur III (Rusty).
He is survived by his mother, Alma Andlinger; wife, Rebecca Hayes; daughter, Chelcie Andlinger; and stepsons, David (Libby) Patterson, Shane Patterson, and Colin Berger. Michael will be remembered as a wonderful son, husband, father, and friend. He never missed an opportunity to pay it forward to friends and strangers alike. He was positive to the end, and his wishes were for a memorial party without tears but rather joy.
A memorial and celebration of Michael's life will be held at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #141 of Canton (2800 Atlantic Blvd. NE, Canton, OH 44705) on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to the Kent State University Foundation (Michael Andlinger Fund for Cancer Research) P.O. Box 5190, Kent, OH 44242. Services under the direction of Ohio Cremation and Professional Services (330-438-1745) Mark R. Vrabel Funeral Home, North Canton, Ohio.

Great guy...he had a big heart for everyone. Haven't seen him for years, he was my high school sweetheart. Lots of life's lessons and fun times shared growing up. Alma,Rebecca,and daughter Chelcie so sorry for your loss.

Mikey was a good friend through these many years. We traveled together and I have many fond memories of the time we spent together. I will truly miss his laugh and sense of humor. Even when I knew he was not feeling well, he always made me laugh. He was a great friend.
