Robert Basham Obituary
age 59 of Canal Fulton passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at Affinity Medical Center. Bob was born Sept. 25, 1952 in Ellison, W.Va. to Carlos and Lola (Cox) Basham and moved to Massillon in 1956. He attended Washington High School and was employed by Superior Brand Meats for 17 years; and retired from Gojo Industries in Cuyahoga Falls. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Time spent with his grandchildren was very dear to him, especially taking them for rides on his four wheeler and tractor. His family will remember Bob as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Basham (2003); two brothers, Thomas Basham (2009) and James ‘Fred' Basham (2001). Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marcia (McFarren) Basham; two children and their spouses, Robert and Kelly Basham; granddaughters, Kate and Lauren of Dublin, Ohio and Stacey and Shawn O'Brien; grandsons, Carson and Anderson of Massillon; his mother, Lola Basham; and his sister, Glenna ‘Karen' and Jim Bradshaw.
A Celebration of the life of Bob Basham will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Rev. Cecil Thayer and Rev. Jay Dolvin will officiate. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m.. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations to Akron Children's Hospital.
