Mark Pruitt Obituary
Mark was born January 29, 1962 in Honea Path, South Carolina and graduated from Belton -Honea Path High School and Erskine College. Mark's passion was golf beginning as a young boy playing the hills of Ware Shoals. He pursued a career as a Golf Professional and was an assistant pro at Cobb's Glen under Jackie Seawell. Later he became Head Golf Professional at Sugar Foot Golf Club in his hometown of Honea Path. His dream of owning a golf facility came true with River Heights Golf Club in Anderson, South Carolina. Mark enjoyed working with friends and was dedicated to giving lessons to many people in Anderson County. He was an avid sportsman and especially loved to watch football, golf, and NASCAR with his wife Kim.
He is survived by his best friend, Kim Page Pruitt. Mark was the son of Bobby Joe Pruitt (Ann), and Linda Coleman of Honea Path. Sisters, Tracy Lackey (Toby) of Greenwood, Sandy Brock (Doug), and Mandy Williams, all of Honea Path. Sister and brother- in- law Betsy and Greg Wells of Longwood, Florida. Special nieces and nephews Katelyn, Rachael, Justin, Jonah, Westin, Garrett, and Audrey. Uncle, Mike Pruitt (Vickie), cousins, Jacquelyn and Jennifer. He was predeceased in death by his beloved grandparents, Reverend Howard and Vennie Pruitt. Mark's strong faith, friendship, generosity, and humor will be greatly missed, but will live in our hearts forever.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 29th at 12 p.m. at Keowee Baptist Church Honea Path, SC with Rev. Tony Hayden, Rev. Mike Morris, Rev. Terry Greer and Rev. Tony Lee officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 28th from 6:00-8:00 at Pruitt Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Keowee Baptist Church Building Fund, 4640 Keowee Rd, Honea Path, SC 29654. Family is at the home of father Bobby and Ann Pruitt. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com.
