Nova Osborne

Never has one so deserved to soar in the heavens as Nova Osborne, 86, of Charlotte NC, who joined the angels on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. She was the daughter of the late G.C. and Leila Smith and was born on January 26, 1931 in Iva, SC.

Full of life, kindness, wisdom, and a lovable extrovert, she radiated a wonderful aura that drew people to her throughout her life. A favorite of her schoolmates, she played basketball and was a cheerleader. At Anderson College she was an actress and radio personality. Her career spanned from legal secretary to court stenographer to a beloved and highly respected Charlotte real estate broker for almost 40 years.

She was the wife of the late Harry Osborne. The most wonderful mother imaginable, she is survived by her two loving sons, Jeffrey, Charles and his wife Andrea, nieces Nancy Blanchard and Kathy Smith, and many other nieces and nephews. We thank God every day for the love and support she heaped upon us.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 9, at Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice House of Southminster or to Providence United Methodist in honor of the Christian Home Sunday School Class

I'm her niece. I never got to see her after age 9. I remember her and I loved her. I remember thinking when I was a child that she was one more classy lady and I was right. I'm sorry I did not know that she had passed. Love, Arlene

Regina, Bill and i would like to send our sincere condolences to Nova' s family. There was no one like Nova and everyone loved her! She was always a joy to be around and she cared for us all. She loved her boys so much and spoke of them all the time. She also loved her Harry!! At Coldwell Banker Flouhouse, we all knew of Harry and her love and devotion to him. She will be missed. God bless you all. We are all blessed who knew her.

My sweet, amazing Aunt Nova was the last link to my childhood. These past few years we have spent many hours reminiscing and laughing. She would always say, You are so pretty. I'm glad you look like me. That would start both of us giggling like school girls. She loved to laugh. We shared stories from those years when I was a little girl and she was beginning her life with Uncle Harry. Tales of our children's accomplishments were a favorite topic of conversation too. We were always amazed that we were blessed with such talented children. I will miss those talks and I will always treasure them. I am thankful that she had 86 years of a life well lived surrounded by the people she loved.
