John Dorn Obituary

John William "Bill" Dorn, 90, resident of Marshall Road, husband of Margaret Rhyne Dorn, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his home.

Born December 11, 1934, in Callison, SC, he was a son of the late John Robert and Minnie Rush Dorn. He was a 1952 graduate of Greenwood High School and was also a US Army Veteran. Bill retired from Monsanto in 1990.

He was a member of Woodfields Baptist Church and attended Ninety Six First Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are a daughter, Donna Dorn of Greenville; two sons, John Rhyne Dorn (Stacy) of Greenwood and David William Dorn (Angela) of Greenville; three grandchildren, Emily Greer (Andy) of Hodges, Anna Livingston (Calvin) of Greenwood, and Zachary Dorn of Greenville; and three great-grandchildren, Elijah Livingston, Lucas Livingston, and Cade Greer.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by three siblings.

Graveside services will be conducted 1 PM Friday, December 27, 2024 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Ninety Six, P.O. Box 85 Ninety Six, SC 29666, or to Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter, 123 W. Antrim Drive Greenville, SC 29607.
