David Ross Gruner, Sr.
72, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 21, 2014. He was born on June 16, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Wilbert R. and Patricia (Woirhaye) Gruner. David graduated from St. Phillip Neri in 1955, Scecina Memorial High School in 1959, and also Marian College in 1964 with an accounting degree. He lived and worked in Chicago before returning back to Indianapolis. He worked in production control and materials management at Thor Power Tools, Nuclear Chicago, G.D. Searle, and Bell & Howell.
Survivors include children, Jeanne (Bob) Ebersole, Laura (Tom) Geib, David (Darlene) Gruner, and Diane (John) Goodwin; fourteen grandchildren; brothers, John E. (Jana) Gruner and Michael A. (Patty) Gruner. He was preceded in death by sisters, Joan E. Yohler and Patricia Ann Gruner.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46217 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m with Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m.
He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home . Online condolences may be shared with the family at http://www.ghherrmann.com.
