Geraldine Ruth Alender
of Indianapolis, passed away January 23, 2012 in Kokomo, IN. She was born July 22, 1917 (94 years of age) in Brown County, Indiana. She was the only child of Sylvester and Lola Louden of Bean Blossom, Indiana. Geraldine was married to her loving husband Orno Alender and the two lived and raised their family in Indianapolis. Orno preceded her in death in April 2007, after 68 wonderful years of marriage.
Geraldine is survived by two children, son, Stephen Orno Alender of Indianapolis, IN; son, James Paul Alender and wife Karen J. of Kokomo, IN; two sisters-in-law, Arressia Allender of Nashville, IN; Jayne Allender of Columbus, IN; two grandchildren, grandson, Adam K. Alender of Bloomington, IN; grandson, Andrew J. Alender of Bloomington, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Allender, Flora Allender and Lucille Heiner; and brothers-in-law, Pat Allender, Omer Dale Allender and Paul Allender.
Geraldine retired from JC Penney & Co. in 1988, after 37 years of dedicated service as a Customer Service Associate. She was a wonderful wife and mother, dearly supporting and advocating for her children and grandchildren. Not a moment passed that Geraldine wasn't thinking and doing for others, right to the end of her time with us.
Friends may call at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home , 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143 on Saturday, January 28 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be immediately following the funeral service in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

I am your cousin. I met one of you @ your granparent's farn a few yrs ago. I stopped with my son to look @ your father's four wheeler. We talked about your grandparents and when i had met your mom. I am the grandaughter of Nova Walker Altop. I am sorry for your loss.
