J. Massey Obituary

J. Christopher "Chris" Massey 40, of Fairland, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007 from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. Born on October 5, 1967 in Indianapolis, he was a 1986 graduate of Triton Central High School and attended Butler University. He was a partner in the family business, Brownie's Marine in Fairland, where his love for boating and water skiing began. An avid sports fan, Chris cherished time he spent with his family and friends, traveling, his motorcycle and loved the Indianapolis Colts. He was a member of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and Indiana Marine Dealers Association. Survivors include his wife Angela (Havely) Massey; his son, Jacob, two daughters, Alexa & Ryan Elizabeth; his parents, James & Margaret (Brown) Massey; brother, Marc (Mary) Massey; grandmother, Alma J. Massey, his mother & father-in-law, Dennis & Beverly Havely and two sisters-in-law, Anne (David) Lawson & Allison Havely (Scott Uhrig). Chris was a beloved nephew and uncle to many. Visitation will be from 3-8:00 pm on Sunday, October 21 & from 10-11:30 on Monday, October 22 at Southport Presbyterian Church, 7525 McFarland Blvd in Indianapolis. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 am on Monday, October 22 at the church. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Every year Chris organized & participated in a fishing tournament, with the proceeds going to South Central Indiana Hospice. In his honor, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana, 110 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176. G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home is handling the arrangements
