John Jarrett Obituary

Dr. John C. Jarrett 84, Syracuse, IN, died February 3, 2005. He was born August 18, 1920. Dr. John C. Jarrett was born IN Syracuse, Indiana to the late Guy Mitchell and Cora Marie (Crow) Jarrett. Mary Louise (Gilmore) Jarrett, his wife of 48 years, died on October 23, 1996. Dr. Jarrett was a graduate of Purdue University and a member of the John Purdue Club and comes from a long line of Purdue graduates which include his father, Guy Jarrett, sister, Mary Gene, son, David, daughter-in-law, Pam and grandson, Steve. He was also a graduate of Western Reserve Medical School, Cleveland, Ohio. He started his practice with OB-GYN, Marion in 1951, retiring in 1982 and delivered 10,000 babies during this time. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a veteran of US Air Force. Memorials may be made to Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine or the Logan Center, 1235 N. Eddy, South Bend, IN 46617. Arrangements are being handled by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN. Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Monday, February 7, 2005 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Marion with visitation one hour prior to the service. Survivors: sons Dr. John C. (Lisa) Jarrett, II Indianapolis, IN, David (Pam) Jarrett South Bend, IN; daughter Pamela (Solomon) Van Meter Lexington, KY; sister Mary Gene Hawthorne Elwood City, PA; special friend Peggy Joan Thomas Wabash, Indiana; 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Mary Louise Jarrett; parents Guy and Cora Jarrett.
