Most sincere condolences to Aunt Jan, Rick, Kathy, & Julie. Uncle Dick was always great to be around, so many wonderful memories, recalling back to many, many years ago in Fort Wayne & then also in Plainfield as well as not all to many years ago on the northeast side of INDY. Certainly extended family gatherings were better with him. Additionally exchanging some letters over the years are on my mind. Reading that he died peacefully surrounded by family and all else written here is touching and bittersweet as was hearing that Uncle Dick offered a confident "thumbs up" to my Father when they last spoke.

Sorry to lose Dick. He was a rare gentleman. Loved playing cards with him. He will be missed.

My Uncle Dick as I always called him, had the "Irish gift of Gab" not sure where he got this gift, but I don't think he kissed the blarney stone to get it. His smile & attitude always contagious, his advice always welcome, prone to long conversations, some reflective, some emotional, all enjoyable. Visits to Indy were few, but phone calls out of the blue were always taken and time enjoyed by the both of us were shared. I shall miss our conversations, his advice, his humor, and even though I cannot call him anymore I know that I will be able to talk to him just as much through prayer and thought.
