Tom and I were pharmacy classmates at the University of Florida. He called several times while planning our 50th class reunion in 2013, so this was unexpected news. I had not heard about Tom until this month. I am sending prayers to his family from Florida.

You were more than a doctor. You were a fine example of service, compassion, dedication, and respect. I should just list the fruits of the spirit here; you had them all! You did a fine job at everything you did. Thank you for everything and thank you for helping to bring my kids into this world and for guiding me through my healthcare.

I moved away from Indy 9 years ago, but I have to say that Dr. Wisler was the kindness, most compatinate, professional doctor i have ever known. Always put me at ease durning my yearly exam. Alway ask about my family, my son played tennis and we always had a nice conversation about common interests....our families! I alway got my hug upon departure. Dr. Wisler was a very special Christian man with a huge caring heart. Heaven rejoices at his presents even though he leaves sad hearts with his passing. God is overjoyed to have him. God Bless his family and comfort them in their time of need!

So sad to read the notice that Dr. Wisler has passed. I was a patient for 20 years and have two healthy sons he helped into this world. My youngest was brought in by the dynamic duo of Dr. Wisler and Nan. Though I always dreaded the part of the appointment where he told me I needed to get into shape, I know he only took the time to say as much because he cared. And he cared enough to refer me to Dr. Pat when I didn't have a family doctor. He was a kind and genuine soul, truly a great example of what a physician should strive to be. I'm glad God loaned him to us to help with the blessings and hardships in this life and I look forward to thanking him again in the next. Thoughts and prayers to the entire Wisler family.

My prayers go out to Dr. Wisler's family, friends, and patients. I was so saddened to receive notification of his death in my mail. I have been a patient of his for at least 25 years, and have never known a more caring and dedicated physician. He always remembered details about his patients and their families and was able to put you at ease even in the most stressful situations. I always knew how much he cared and he will be greatly missed. I am thankful that I was able to see him just a month ago.

I just was told today that Dr. Wisler had passed and was shocked to hear this. He delivered my son who is 28 yrs. old. I remember taking a pic in of him holding him up for the camera as soon as he was born. He studied it and noticed that something was used that is no longer used now (this was a few years back). He was always so nice to me. I always was in awe of him.

Dr. Wisler delivered a baby with extreme complications in 1983. That baby was me. He is responsible for me being alive and well with a family of my own. To say he did a lot for my family would be an understatement. He was a wonderful man and will be missed and thought of often by so many people in this community and beyond. Your family and friends are in my thoughts.

Hearing of his passing has certainly saddened my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I have been a patient of Dr. Wisler's for 38 years!! What a wonderful Doctor! He worked with my husband and I through our infertility for two years then finally delivered our twins and another one a year later! He's done several surgeries on me and each incident I had total faith in him and never a concern about his knowledge or ability. Not only was he a fabulous doctor, he was an amazing person! He always had a hug for me and truly cared about my health and well being. He had the most amazing bed side manners and NEVER rushed through an appointment or hospital visit. He's now a true angel in heaven and will be greatly missed.

I was saddened to learn of Dr. Wisler's passing, but know that he is much better off now and in God's hands. I am grateful that he didn't suffer for long and will cherish the talks we had over the years. As others have said, he was a caring and wonderful doctor and like others, I too had great faith in his care. I want to say I was his patient for almost 30 years, but like he told me just recently, he didn't have patients, he had friends - and friends he did have. I don't know that anyone who ever met him would disagree. He was always willing to give of himself and will truly be missed by family and his many friends. My prayers go out to his family and those close to him that God may continue to grant comfort in the loss of such a GREAT man!

What a wonderful, caring, compassionate man Dr Wisler was! He delivered my son 13 yrs ago. Dr Wisler was leaving for vacation, and I wanted HIM to be the one who delivered our son, so we chose a date ... June 1st :) We were so glad to have him deliver our son, as he was in the breech position! Dr Wisler brought our healthy baby boy into the world, and we were so thankful for his medical expertise and compassion. He will be missed by so many! Dr. Wisler and I met one hot summer's night in the St. Francis Emergency Room. He had just delivered a set of twins and getting ready to leave the hospital when I arrived by ambulance. I was close to bleeding out and he took my hand and assured me I was going to be just fine and that he would take good care of me. We prayed together before I went into surgery. I survived that night and I've been a patient of his for the last 30 thirty years. I had complete faith in him as my doctor and was shocked to hear of his passing. Heaven's gain is our loss. May you rest in God's love and peace for all eternity. To his family I pray that Our Heavenly Father gives your hearts what they need the most at this difficult time.

He was loved and will be missed as a treasure that God allowed my family to have in our lives.

Every interaction with him enriched my life. As many families can testify, Dr Wisler delivered both my sons and I doubt either would have lived if not for his expertise. Indianapolis lost one of its most kind & caring OB Drs & heaven gained 1. Dr Wisler delivered 2 of my 3 children & he was always fascinated that I had delivered my 1st baby over in Spain & he'd ask about the experience, then years later he shared that 1 of his daughters was studying abroad in Spain & how beautiful Spain was. He was always concerned about you, the total person, your family, not just you, the OB patient. Dr Wisler was also very proud of all of his family, his wife (who was the oldest student to graduate IU Med School) & all of his children. Sympathy & Condolences to all of his family (in some ways I always felt like I knew his family, even though we've never met).

Prayers and hugs going to his family,

Dr. Wisler was a compassionate, funny, and amusing man. He welcomed both of my children into this world. He shared wonderful stories of his family with me. He and I had devised a plan to have my husband fly us up for Notre Dame football games. He was so energetic!!I know he was a good husband, a good father and grandfather. I am saddened by his passing. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Wisler was an amazing doctor and one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. In all my years in L&D you could always count on Dr. Tom. His dedication to his patients and the faith that he stood on were unmatched.
All my love and prayers go out to the Wisler family, especially our lovely Nan.

Dear Family And Friends,
I was sad to hear about Tom.He has been a dear friend and fellow physician for over 30 years. He was always someone who would give of his time and talents. He was always a blessing to every patient and person he saw. I will always remember him and I know that he must be with God now and is at rest. My prayers will be with you at this difficult time.

Dr. Wisler was my surgeon back in the late 1980's; then, years later he was my daughter's doctor.. Dr. Wisler had one of the best "bedside manners" of any doctor I have ever known. Sorry for the family and the medical community. I really enjoyed knowing him and realized early on that Dr. Wisler was a great doctor and a great man. Thanks to his family for sharing him with all of us. God Bless.

Dear Patsy and family, We send our prayers and love. I feel it has been a gift to know Tom. He was always so sincere, kind and genuine. We are so disappointed we are leaving town Sunday morning for a week. We will miss the calling and funeral mass. Know our thoughts will and prayers will be with you. Most Sincerely, Judy and Dan Hoyt

I worked for Dr. Wisler at Beech Grove Ob/GYN 1986 -1989. He was such a wonderful doctor to work for and was so kind, considerate and compassionate with everyone. I will never forget how he always watched out for me and treated me so well. The medical field has lost an icon. My prayers and well wishes to the Wisler family.

Dr. Wisler was not only a great person but a great Dr. as well. He delivered both of my kids and I'll never forget him kissing my forhead and shaking my husband's hand after they were both born. He was compassionate and caring and will be truly missed. God Bless your family.

Patsy, Please know of my sympathies for you and your family. How I treasured Tom's loving support and friendship over the years. Such a gentle man as ever I've known. He rests in peace. May the years of good memories soothe your heartache in the days ahead. Blessings, Sr. Kathleen Desautels, SP
