Suddenly on August 7, 2017. Beloved husband of Ann Marie (nee Kelly) Monaghan, loving father of Darren Jr., Kelly Ann, Allison, and Kyle. Grandfather of 3, brother of Shawn, Brian, and Scott Monaghan. Family, Friends and member of FOP Lodge #5 are invited to his Viewing Friday 5:30-9:00 P.M. and Saturday 8:30 A.M. at the FITZPATRICK FUNERAL HOME, 425 Lyceum Avenue, Phila. and to partici-pate in his Funeral Mass 10 A.M. at St John the Baptist Church, 119 Rector St., Int. Westminster Cemetery. Donations in Darren's name to the FOP Survivors Fund, 11630 Caroline Rd., Phila., Pa 19154, would be appreciated by his family.

I didn't know Darren very well but I do know he was deeply loved by his family and loved them as much in return. That's a legacy that unfortunately not everybody leaves behind. May you rest easy until you see your loved ones again.

Dar you will truly be missed. You are 0ne in a million. You always put Ann and your family first. I have a lot of fun memories of you down at Aunt Barbara's house when I was younger, you and Ann always let Sue and I hang out with you guys in the kitchen or the basement. My sisters and I meet Darren one year in Wildwood at the Lollipop Motel. We were young teenagers and had a lot of fun together. Later in life my sister Donna reconnected with him, she is a retired police officer and Darren was also on the job. So sorry for your loss.

The Monaghan's were always a second family to me and Mr. Monaghan was always like a second Dad to me!! I will always remember our times at the campground and me tagging along on the family parties and trips, especially the 8 hour road trip to Akron Ohio where the rest of the family fell asleep in the car and I stayed awake with Mr. Monaghan (I still don't know if he was happy i was awake for the company or if he just wished i would fall asleep too haha.) Mrs. Monaghan, Darren, Kelly, Allison, Kyle, Monaghan and Kelly Families I am truly sorry for your loss, he was a genuinely GREAT man and he was taken way to soon! I am here for you guys if you need anything! I love you all!
