A great voice and radio personality has left us all too soon. I am shocked and saddened. Ed was one of the last of the great ones. He always treated me with kindness and respect the few times I got to meet him. Godspeed Ed.

To the Sciaky Family: I am very saddened and, frankly, quite in shock at the death of Ed. He was a fixture on the Philly music scene. He was also a seer into the future as evidenced by his discovery of Springsteen. I was trying to remember if I ever saw him in person and I feel that I did even if it was just for an intro at a concert. I know that I enjoyed his radio show and learned much about my favorite artists from him. I hope that you can find comfort not only in your families and friends but also from his many fans who cared for him a great deal. Another Philly legend has passed on.

There are no words to express the sadness I feel at the loss of Ed, my friend for almost 30 years. His love of his profession, his passion for life and all things good, remain at the core of my vivid memories of him. My heart goes out to Judy and Monica on the loss of a man who was dedicated to their happiness and wellbeing; I share their grief. I take some consolation from knowing that Ed will live on in all of the lives he touched with his love, warmth and friendship - and his wonderful, infectious laugh.

I have been listening to Ed for a long time on the radio and I appreciated his sense of humor, as well as his insights to the legends Ed introduced us to. He is a Philadelphia legend in his own right, and we will miss him. God bless Ed and his family.
