GOELZ


ERNEST O., on Aug. 11, 2003, beloved husband of Susan, father of Glenn Goelz and his wife Elizabeth, Gregg Goelz and his wife Janice and Gary Goelz. Grandfather of Tyler and Jenna Brown and Justin Martina, son of the late Otto Goelz and the late Betty Goelz. He was a 1953 graduate of Lehigh University with a B.S. Degree in Engineering. At Lehigh he was a member of the Tower Society, the Asa Packer Society, participated in the Lehigh Scholarship Program and was Class Agent for the Class of 1953. He served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1956, reaching the rank of 1st Lieutenant, and was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was the Founder and President of MTI Corp. from 1968 to 1997. The company manufactured equipment for the electronics industry. He was a member of Gloria Dei Church since 1992 serving as the Director of the Endowment Fund for three years and as its Chairman for two years, was the originator and meeting facilitator for "Initiative 2001", was co-chairman of Stewardship Team 2001 and was an Opportunity Ambassador from 1992 until 2003. He was a founding director and a board member of FirstService Bank. He was also a member of the Executive Committee No. 341, International Organization of CEO's, the Vereinigung Erzgebirge, the Philadelphia Sail Club and the Main Line Ski Club. Relatives and friends are invited to a joint Memorial Service for Ernie and his mother Betty on Thursday 1:00 P.M. at Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pa. where friends may call from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
