My sister Martha came for my brother Herb on the same date she passed May 2nd. He told me she was sitting with us when I was at his bedside, just in case I didn't believe he passed on the same day as she 2 years later. Life is empty without him, lonely without her, I hope it means she comforted him for the journey to the other side. R.I.P.

I only met Herb twice and I know my beloved girlfriend the sister of Herb felt the sun rose and set on him. We had the opportunity to spend a little time together for his 80th birthday and that will always be a beautiful memory for me.

My uncle Herb was a legend when I was growing up. I would here of all his travels to far away places. He was like a streak of lightning always going somewhere doing something fun. I remember hearing him on the radio calling the horse races. One quick memory.. we were at Tacony flea market, I'm gonna say early 1980's. It was Herb, my mom & dad, and I selling his stuff. I think he was moving and needed cash badly also my dad wanted to get rid of some things as well. I took a box of baseball cards to sell, we sat there for hours. Both my dad and Herb sold almost everything. My poor box of baseball cards got no offers. Herb throws me his keys and says go get my pack of cigarettes out of the car. I come back from the long walk to the car and he says great news some idiot just bought your entire box for $50 bucks. He said I can't believe this guy would spend that kind of money on bunch of common cards. Later that day I helped him pack the remaining things in his car.. that's when I saw my box of cards in his trunk. I told my dad , look that's my box of cards, he said did you really think someone would give you $50 for that? He said that's what family does , dont tell him you know. I never told him I knew he was the one who bought my cards. I tried to tell him this story when I last saw him in Arizona but he didnt remember or did he?? Herb died shortly after my road trip out to see him. I'm glad I got to really know him in the end. Herb was a generous man even in the times he didnt have the means to be. That shows true generosity. I still go to that flea market and every time I pull into the parking lot I remember... rest in peace.

Uncle Herb was perpetually happy, warm and welcoming, and he lit up a room simply with his presence. I met him not long after I met my husband, some 22 years ago. I liked him immediately! He treated me as if hed known me forever. He was a striking, handsome man, and people just drew to him, his magnetic personality was a rare thing, and I will miss him always. We love you, Uncle, you were truly, Sup(Herb)!!
