There are many reasons why we all loved Uggie as much as we did. Uggie was not only funny, he always let everyone, including the younger ones, in on the joke. He was an extraordinarily kind and perceptive person; and one of the ways that was apparent was in the way he talked to children – he looked down and always noticed, but never talked down. His death leaves a sad ache in the heart --Marian and kids, you remain in my thoughts.

I'm one of the "newcomers" to Fairmount, having moved here only in 1995, but in the years that I've lived here, I've heard "Uggie's" name many times.
He was known and thought very highly of by many.

What a great neighbor-- I will always remember Ann and Uggie, who was introduced to me as "the Mayor of Aspen Street." Indeed, he knew everyone and watched over the neighborhood. Warmest wishes to Marian and all the family--he was a wonderful man!
