JAMES M. II of Longfellow Road, died Tuesday, January 26, 2004, at his residence, after a brief Illness. Jim was born in Germantown, PA, March 31, 1918. He is survived by his wife, Ann, of Jamestown and his four children. A retired Delta Airlines Captain, Jim learned to fly at the age of 17. He flew with the Army Air Corps in the Pacific theater during WWII. Following the war, he flew as a sky writer, and then commercially for Northeast Airlines which is now Delta. He considered himself lucky for having been paid for something he truly enjoyed. Aside from his flying career, Jim was a Pound Ridge Town Councilman, captained the Jamestown launch and was a docent for the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum as well as the Jamestown Windmill. Additionally, Jim served as an officer for the Conanicut Yacht Club and was a member of the Newport Reading Room. Everyone knew Jim for his outgoing personality and sense of humor. His enthusiasm for life affected all who knew him. He will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be sent to either the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum, Jamestown Windmill or the Jamestown Fire Department, Fireboat fund. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 7th at 11:00 am in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown Reception following at: Conanicut Yacht Club Fagan FH (401) -295-5603

Gentleman Jim Dodge was a legend in his own time. He taught me a great deal. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
