James Jerome Quinn

Quinn James Jerome Age 80, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Brooklyn, NY, James was the son of Francis James and Mary Margaret (nee Dunphy). After starting life in New York City, which made a lifelong impression, he and his family moved to Maine where he attended Cheverus High School in Portland. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1967. James proudly served in the United States Army for two years, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. A lifelong enthusiast of technology, James built a distinguished career in the computer industry, including over two decades at Digital Equipment Corporation. Following the events of September 11th, he felt a deep calling to public service and joined the Department of Homeland Security, where he dedicated himself to cybersecurity and infrastructure protection until his passing. James was the beloved former husband of Teresa Pisani and a devoted father to his sons, Ian and Colin. Through his quiet strength and example, he instilled in them a love of learning and the courage to follow their passions. He was a proud grandfather to Liam, Brendan, Ananya, and Chethan. In addition to his sons, he is survived by his brother, Joseph Quinn; his sisters, Margaret King and Maureen Storer; and many nieces and nephews. The family extends special thanks to his niece, Kathleen McGrath, for her devoted visits and companionship in recent years. A Memorial Service will be held at LAUREL HILL FUNERAL HOME in Bala Cynwyd, PA, on June 14, 2025, at 2:00 P.M.
