JANET OLLINGER Obituary

OLLINGER


JANET, Ph.D., of Chalfont, PA, died on July 17, 2015 at the age of 68. Born October 17, 1946 to Jack (d 2013) and Ruth (d 1973) Ollinger in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from the Univer-sity of Utah with an Honors degree in Chemistry in 1969. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi, and was a member of the Beehive Society. Then she received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Illinois with a National Institutes of Health Traineeship. She earned a certificate in business management from Wharton. Most of her career was with the Rohm and Haas Company where she was the first female Ph.D. chemist in Rohm and Haas' Research Division.
She is survived by her sister, Susan Ollinger Sneddon, her brother-in-law, Murray, as well as her nieces Heather, Heidi, and Penny and their children. She is also survived by her many close friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jan's life will be held on October 11, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. at the Joseph Ambler Inn, located at 1005 Horsham Road, North Wales, PA 19454. Donations in Dr. Ollinger's memory for the establishment of a memorial bench on a trail in Red Butte Garden in Salt Lake City, UT, may be made to: Red Butte Garden, c/o Laura Basilius, 300 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108.
