JOHN QUINN LAWSON

LAWSON JOHN QUINN John Quinn Lawson passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the age of 84 in Lafayette Hill, PA. John was a well-known Philadelphia Architect and a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. Born in Tucumcari, NM, John was the third son of Tom Latta Lawson and Mabel Hagglund Lawson. After graduating from Tucumcari High School in 1957, he studied architecture at Rice University in Houston, TX. In 1961, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and in 1962, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Architecture from Princeton University in 1964. In addition to his beloved wife Lorna, John is survived by his son Bevan Eugene Lawson and daughter Cary Augusta Lawson from his first wife, Elizabeth Waddel Lawson, and grandchildren Fiona Elizabeth Lawson and Declan Cullen Lawson. He is also survived by his brothers Tom Latta Lawson and Eric Newton Lawson, six nieces and nephews and several cousins. John was predeceased by his sister, Phoebe Louise Lawrence in 2023. John had suffered from dementia. He spent his last two years at The Hill at Whitemarsh in Lafayette Hill. A Memorial Service will be planned for a later date. www.laurelhillphl.com
