CASE KATHLEEN ANN Age 80, passed from heart failure on November 14, 2025 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She was born in Westfield, New Jersey and lived in Omaha, Radnor, and Avondale, before moving to Bryn Mawr in 1979. Ms. Case graduated with a BA in English and a minor in journalism from Pennsylvania State University in 1967. She cut her teeth as a student editor and journalist for Penn State's Daily Collegian, covering Vietnam era protests in the turbulent 1960's. She earned a master's in Technical and Science Communication from Drexel University in 1987. At a time when the medical publishing industry was dominated by male physicians, Ms. Case started as an assistant editor and was promoted through the ranks to break through the glass ceiling and run operations at one of the Big 5 medical journals, the American College of Physicians' Annals of Internal Medicine, based in Philadelphia. In 2001, she was hired to lead the Division of Publishing at the American Association for Cancer Research. In retirement, she volunteered at the Haverford Township Historical Society and other local civic organizations. After marriages to D. Benjamin van Steenburgh, III and then Peter Moor, she married Jacques Catudal in 1995, with whom she lived in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She traveled extensively in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America. She devoured books on American history and enjoyed historical fiction. She also rode horses, pursued genealogy, watched Philadelphia sports, collected antiques, gardened and enjoyed camping, canoeing, hiking and archery. Ms. Case is predeceased by her mother, Evelyn Boger and her father, Charles Case, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband Jacques Catudal; sister Peggy Case and brother Charles Case, her sons Donald Benjamin van Steenburgh, IV (Heidi), Joseph Jason van Steenburgh (Tamatha), her step-son Max Catudal; and her grandchildren Sasha Harper van Steenburgh, Leighton Skye van Steenburgh, William Rowan van Steenburgh and Talya Escher van Steenburgh. Funeral Services will be at STRETCH FUNERAL HOME in Havertown, Pennsylvania on Friday, November 21 at 1 P.M. Relatives and friends may call from 11:30 A.M. - 1 P.M.
