KATHLEEN FRAME Obituary

FRAME
KATHLEEN RITA, RN, PhD, MFA
"BUNKEY"

Artist, nurse, mentor, lived a wonderful life! Her positive outlook on life was inspiring and she touched the lives of everyone she met. She left the earth on June 11, 2017 surrounded by people she loved, to join her wonderful Aunt Rita; Bertha "Nanny" O'Malley; her mother-in-law, Grace Frame; her ex-mother-in-law, Mildred Woods; her brave grandmother, Julia Friedman Maro; Margaret Carr, and a host of other like-minded, strong women who lived life to the fullest just like Bunkey. She was exuberant, talkative, grateful, outgoing and one of a kind! She was beloved by everyone she met as her generous spirit and sense of wonder inspired joy in all. She leaves behind her wonderful husband, Eddie Frame. She leaves her loyal, devoted poodle, Onyx Winston Frame, to bring light and happiness to Eddie. She was the adoring Mom of John and Kelly Woods, of whom she was so proud. She used to say, "If I could create/invent a child, it would be John and Kelly Woods". She loved her stepchildren: Tammy (Ben) Shorr and Sara (Yeyo) Frame and Elisa Wirtschafter (Nathan). She found delight in her grandchildren: Hannah and Kolie Shorr; Luna Rodriquez Frame; Benjamin, Adam, Shira and Talia Wirtschafter; and her grandpuppy Maggie Bear Woods. She is survived by her parents, Doris and Bob Maro, who she considered her heroes. She adored her three brothers and their wives, Bobby (Linda), Joey (Patrice) and Mikey (Carolyn) and her many nieces and nephews who continued to amaze her and brighten her days! Bunkey was lucky to know how many people adored her. Amongst her many blessings, her best friends: Monica Romani; Tim Cardullo; Joyce Donges; Kevin Emmons; Jessica Pratt. Stricken with cancer in 2007, she never let cancer define her. Never fond of cooking and cleaning, Bunkey spent her last years quilting, painting, playing the piano and laughing the loudest at every chance. Celebrate her life at a Memorial Service from 6 - 9 P.M. on Thursday, June 15th at MOUNT LAUREL HOME FOR FUNERALS, 212 ARK RD., Mt. LAUREL, NJ. A Mass of Celebration will be held on Friday, June 16th at 11 A.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Medford with a viewing at 10 A.M. Bunkey is not gone…she is very much alive and with us all in spirit! Please celebrate her life. Bunkey was so proud to receive an honorary MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in recognition of her artistic achievements. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to: The Low Residency MFA Program at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Office of Development, 128 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19102.

I remember Kathy describing Eddie. “He has big muscles like Popeye and he’s furry. She loved him that’s for sure!

When the Corona virus started I said to my husband, I wish I could call Kathy and ask her opinion about all this. She was one of the smartest people I knew. And she was so friendly! One time we got tickets to see the Rosie show. We took the train to NYC. We got off and had no clue where to go. So Kathy stopped a gentlemen on his way to work and told him all about how we got the tickets and she was a school nurse and the story of our lives. then finally asked for directions. I don't think he got to work on time that day, but he went with a smile!

Kathy loved working with children, and she made each one feel like they truly mattered to her because they did. We had 6th graders as our office helpers. At the end of the year she would treat them to dinner and a movie. Imagine the kids reactions when she told them we could start with dessert! And so, we started with ice cream sundaes! And dont forget the cherry on top! I think of her so often and still cant believe such a vibrant, loving person is gone. She surely touched my life in so many ways. Love you Kathy!

My Heart is broken hearing the news of My Dear Friend and 30 year Client here in Ocean City NJ, she first starting renting from me 30 years ago and also purchased and sold 4 homes through me. The World has lost an Angel but Heaven has gained one. She fought the good fight and I never saw her down or sad but always sparkling! I will Cherish The time with her and Eddie at Uncle Bills Pancake house in Ocean City and I will forever keep her voice on my voicemail, her last call to me. Thoughts and prayers to Eddie and her family, May God Blesss you all with Happy memories. I just heard the news and I am devasted I have missed the Celebration of her Wonderful but way too short Life.

Our families were connected by our dads. Bunky was our spirited "older" sister full of adventures at our home in Florida. Energetic, funny and so quick witted. Very sad to hear of her passing. Our thoughts are with her husband, and kids and family.

Eddie - I was so sorry to read of Kathy's passing. She and I met at a NASN Conference. We spoke for just a short time. She filled me in on what you, Elisa, Tara and Sara were doing. It was terrible when you lost Sandy at such a young age but to now to lose another wonderful wife must be even more difficult.

I think of you and the girls frequently and send my love to you all. Claudia (Impagliazzo) DeBernardo

My deepest sympathy to Kelly and John and all the loved ones left behind to grieve. Bunk was our school nurse at the Cerebral Palsy School in Pennsauken and she was the most caring, enthusiastic and upbeat person every single day she walked into the bldg. She brought sunshine with her everyday, made everyone smile and laugh. We were sad to see her move on but from what I read here she continued to touch the lives of so many people. I was shocked as were so many to hear of her untimely passing. What a legacy she leaves behind, remember all the good times, the laughing and her wild unpredictable sense of humor. She left us many gifts of kindness but her greatest gifts to the world are you Kelly and John. May god have mercy on her soul.

I didn't have a lot of times together with Bunkey and Eddie but every meeting was filled with smiles, laughter, talk, enjoyment and love together for our wonderful shared children and grandchildren. She was Friend to many and Hero to all who knew her. I thought of her as Spunky Bunkey - especially when I saw a picture of her in a bright pink wig on Valentine's Day.
Her journey was often difficult but she always radiated hope and love.
She is missed very much.

To know Kathy was to witness pure joy. To call her 'a friend' was a blessing you could never appreciate fully because she was honestly love personified. Her passing leaves the world a lesser place and gives the heavens occasion to celebrate. May her beautiful soul surround those that she loved and that loved her in return forever. Kathy truly LIVED! I will miss her always but rejoice knowing she is one of God's special angels. I pray her family finds peace in the days to come.

Bunkey was a light in the life of our family.....
A true friend through thick and thin.

When our son David died in November of 1993, she supported us with kindness and empathy.....

That year knowing how difficult Thanksgiving would be for us...... She made Thanksgiving dinner and invited our family....
We had a lovely meal with Bunkey, John and Kelly.

We feel privileged to have had Bunkey in our lives.
Her spirit will live on in all whose lives she touched.
Our condolences to all who love her.

I have known Bunkey for 14 years. She was one of my biggest fans and cheerleaders. She was beyond supportive through the many tragedies and difficulties I have suffered in my life including the loss of my son 7 years ago. To describe her as full of life, positivity , strength , courage, creativity, intelligence, compassion and kindness doesn't even begin to describe the incredible beautiful woman she was. She was my hero. Her smile and personality were bigger than life iteself. She brought so much love and laughter to all those whose lives she touched. I am forever grateful to have had the privilege of having her in my life. I love and miss her dearly and will remember her fondly forever.
I pray that Eddie, John, Kelly, her parents, siblings and family and friends can find some peace and comfort. My heartfelt condolences to all.

I am so sorry for your lost. May you find comfort in the God of all comfort because he cares for you. 1Peter 5:6-7.

Kathy you were my mentor in my journey to become a school nurse. I had the privilege of working with you at Hartford School. You were my Professor at Hahnemann Nursing school. I thank you so much for being such an example of excellence. I promise you I tried very hard to always do what I thought was the best for our children.

As many people have already put into words Bunky was not someone you just met. If you met her, she touched your life in some significant way. I really admired her energy, sense of humor, her laugh and most of all that everything she did she did with dignity... I feel sad for people who didn't get the chance to know her. She was a spirit to be reckoned with...

There were many times when I had the opportunity to interact with Kathy, and each one of them left me the better. One of those times was 9/11. I remember MLPD assigning me to Hartford school in the hours after the attacks. Kathy and I stood in the foyer while sorrrow and disbelief where spinning around us. But for Kathy, it was just another opportunity to do what she does best, help those who hurt.

I was privileged to be in the first class at Rutgers "certified school nurse" program in 2003. Bunkey was our mentor and friend and made the experience wonderful. I still think "Bunkey said...." to this day as I could not have had a better teacher. Condolences to her family and friends.

It is with great sadness that I read of the passing of my nursing colleague, Kathy Frame. Sending sincere condolences and prayers to the family at this difficult time but touching and agreeing with you on the celebration of a life well lived. Kathy was such an asset and blessing to the nursing profession - school nursing in particular - and has left behind a beautiful legacy of love, compassion and professionalism that will stand the test of time. Rest well, Kathy!

My meeting Bunkey years ago at the horse farm where our daughters spent so much time was a prelude to our meeting again years later at Medford Animal Hospital. How fortunate we all were to know her, even just a little! She will always be near to those she loved most.

Kathy was not someone you just met. If you met her, she touched your life in some significant way. She was so smart (which she was not shy to admit!), so giving and so caring, she wanted to share her many gifts with everyone she encountered. My life would be different if I had never met this wonderful lady. The world lost someone very special and heaven just got more beautiful!

I was so very blessed to have her as an inspiration and mentor when I turned a page in my career and stepped into school nursing. Not a day in the past 6 years have I not heard a "Bunkey-ism" in my mind. My deepest condolences to the family she loved. Her spirit lives on in all of the school nurses she nurtured with passion.
